SIDELIGHTS:

Suzee J. Vlk was the founder of her own company, one which helped students prepare for educational testing. She was also the author of numerous books on the same subject. She lived an active life, having spent time hunting in Alaska, participating in an Iditarod dog sled race, and traveling extensively throughout the world. Her books were marked by her "engaging style and an irreverent and lighthearted tone," reported Karen Kucher in Vlk's obituary for the San Diego Union Tribune. Vlk was killed in a freak accident, when a tree fell on her while she was walking her dog on a windy day.
