"I write in longhand, and my long-suffering husband converts it into typescript offerable to a publisher.

"I am inspired by the oddities of people and the color and variety of places visited—in the United Kingdom obviously, but also abroad—in Italy, France, Spain, Greece, Russia, et cetera."
