SIDELIGHTS:

William J. Rehder is a thirty-year veteran of the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI). He teamed up with Gordon Dillow to write Where the Money Is: True Tales from the Bank Robbery Capital of the World. In this work Rehder and Dillow chronicle Los Angeles's modern-day bank robbers. Rehder illustrates every type of bank robbery and focuses on both professional and amateur robbers. In a review for STLtoday.com, Steve Weinberg observed, "Rehder must have kept copious notes about every bank robbery that came his way, because details he recounts are as fresh as if the cases occurred yesterday." Gilbert Taylor said "denizens of true-crime literature will relish Rehders' undertone of humorous contempt for the stupidity of criminals stymied by time locks, exploding die packs, and silent alarms."
