SIDELIGHTS:
William Miller told CA: "My writing has been focused on issues in librarianship, a field that has changed enormously since I entered it thirty years ago, and one that continues to change almost daily. I teach literature and writing also. My influences are George Orwell, E.B. White, and Hemingway—I try to simplify and shorten, and I always tell my writing classes about Mark Twain's remark in a letter to a friend: ‘I'm sorry this is so long; I didn't have time to make it short.’"
