SIDELIGHTS:

Judith Marks-White is a journalist and freelance writer, as well as an educator. Her column, "The Light Touch," appears weekly in the Westport News. Her first novel, Seducing Harry: An Epicurean Affair, is a light, romantic book that follows Coco Plotnick Hollander Harding, a wealthy woman over forty whose second husband, though nice enough in other ways, is a disappointing lover. Then she meets Harry Troutman, a married plastic surgeon who loves food and wine, and the two start an affair based on their shared passions. Diane White, in a review for the Boston Globe Online, wrote: "Marks-White describes both sex and food with great gusto, in lip-smacking detail. She writes more convincingly about the sex than the food, where she sometimes seems on unsteady ground." Jen Krieger, writing for Bookreporter.com, remarked: "Fully engaging from the very first line, Coco keeps her head held high as she navigates the choppy waters of secrets revealed and scandals uncovered. Readers will never doubt for a second, though, that she will not emerge unscathed." A contributor for Bella Online opined that "from the very first word all of my senses were on full alert…. Judith Marks-White is very adept at the art of description. With effortless panache, she seduces the reader in a world where every detail is important."
