SIDELIGHTS: A. Peter Klimley told CA: "I wrote The Secret Life of Sharks: A Leading Biologist Reveals the Mysteries of Shark Behavior for two reasons. First, I wanted to communicate to non-scientists the excite-ment, manner, and fulfillment of scientific exploration. Second, I wanted to provide the public with a moreaccurate and less-sensational image of the shark—debunking the myth that sharks are simply feeding machines. My approach was to start each chapter with a real-life experience and complete it with information that I learned from my scientific studies about sharks."
