SIDELIGHTS:
Fuming Jiang is a writer, economist, and educator whose professional work focuses on issues in marketing, management, and international business. His research interests concentrate on topics in international business and trade with China, according to a biography on the Australian National University College of Business & Economics Web site. In addition to work on international business and marketing strategies, foreign market entry modes, and export strategies, Jiang also researches foreign direct investment in China, business strategies of Chinese companies, and strategies Chinese firms use in their internationalization efforts. Though he now works in the field of business and academics, Jiang was once a pharmacist in his native China.
In The Chinese Business Environment: An Annotated Bibliography, Jiang and coauthor Bruce W. Stening "cite and summarize selected journal articles" on Chinese business that have appeared in English since 1990, noted a reviewer in Reference & Research Book News. The authors address more than 950 articles that have been important to understanding business issues and the environment faced by business owners in the People's Republic of China. They include summaries, descriptive annotations, and many original abstracts, plus an index of joint authors and detailed subject headings. Only journal articles are cited; books and book chapters are excluded. Reviewer K.T. Wei, writing in Choice, called the book a "valuable reference for scholars and students in China studies and for business practitioners."
