SIDELIGHTS:
Diana Holquist began writing seriously when she moved with her family to central New York. There she began devoting more time to improving her craft, focusing on the romantic novels she enjoyed reading but adding her own personal twist. Her first novel, Make Me a Match, tells the story of two sisters, Cecelia, who lives a quiet, conservative life, and Amy, a wild, gypsy-type, who has the ability to tell a person the name of their one true love. When Amy crashes the party celebrating Cecelia's engagement to Jack, a lawyer, it is to inform her that her true love's name is actually Finn Concord, and that her current relationship is a mistake. Meanwhile, Finn lives with his eight-year-old daughter, Maya. Diana Tixier Herald, reviewing the novel for Booklist, called the book "a delightful debut with endearing characters, a fresh plot, and a paranormal twist." In a review for the Nights and Weekends Web site, Margaret Marr wrote that "Diana Holquist explodes onto the romance market with this ingenious tale." A contributor to the Romance Review Web site observed: "Every character in this story experiences some kind of growth and change."
