SIDELIGHTS:
Gene Guerin told CA: "I began writing fiction recently after a career as a writer and a film and video producer. I prefer to write about the people of northern New Mexico and use my family's history and my own first-hand experiences for inspiration. It took a while to transfer my script-writing skills to narrative prose. I found it quite difficult at first but have now reached a comfort level that seems to serve me well."
