See index for CA sketch: Born July 1, 1917, in Henderson, KY; died of prostate cancer, June 14, 2006, in Arlington, VA. Administrator, educator, psychologist, and author. Eastin was a professor of business administration who also had a private practice as a psychologist. While he was still a student at George Washington University, his first job was actually with the U.S. Government Printing Office, where he began as assistant to the personnel director and eventually became executive officer from 1953 to 1960. Meanwhile, he completed a master's degree in psychology at George Washington University in 1945 and a Ph.D. in public administration at American University in 1953. Leaving government work in 1960, he became a professor of business administration at George Washington University, specializing in personnel management. In 1973, he received a license to practice psychology in Washington, DC. He retired from teaching in 1987. As a writer, Eastin was best known for his 1961 book, Government Publications and Their Use (revised edition, 1969), and was also the author of Management Patterns in Growing Business Forms Companies (1966) and The Difference Makes the Management (1967).
