PERSONAL: Born 1856, in Philadelphia, PA; died September 22, 1932, in Washington, DC; daughter of John Horace (an educator and organization executive) and Emma (Brightly) Brown; married Frank Homer Curtiss (a writer and foundation executive), 1907.

CAREER: Order of the Fifteen (renamed Order of Christian Mystics), cofounder and teacher of the occult, under the name Rahmea, 1907; Church of the Wisdom Religion, cofounder, during World War I, renamed Universal Religious Foundation, 1929. Clairvoyant.
