Civil and environmental engineer Paul N. Cheremisinoff's technical volumes, which spanned several decades, address developments and processes in the areas of waste management technology, energy production, pollution control and remediation, and modeling, monitoring and sampling techniques. He was the editor or author of dozens of volumes, including Gulf Publishing's nine-volume "Encyclopedia of Environmental Control Technology" series, as well as several other multi-volume works.

Cheremisinoff's books are geared to industrial managers, engineers, and technical personnel in the fields about which he writes. A contributor to Process Engineering reviewed his Hazardous Waste Management and Pollution Control, noting that Cheremisinoff writes of complex environmental issues "in a manner that presents ideas and language in a clear and understandable format."
