Whittal Arnold (Morgan)
Whittal, Arnold (Morgan), English musicologist; b. Shrewsbury, Nov. 11, 1935. He took courses at Emmanuel Coll., Cambridge (B.A., 1959), completing his training at the Univ. there (Ph.D., 1964, with the diss. La Querelle des Bouffons). He then taught at the Univ. of Nottingham (1964-69), Univ. Coll., Cardiff (1969-75), and King’s Coll., London (from 1976).
