Weiner, Leó (b Budapest, 1885; d Budapest, 1960). Hung. composer and teacher. On faculty Budapest State Acad. from 1908 (prof. of comp. from 1912, of chamber mus. from 1920, prof. emeritus 1949–60). Famous teacher of chamber mus. Ed. Beethoven's pf. and vn. sonatas. Wrote sym.-poem, 2 vn. concs., 3 str. qts., 2 vn. sonatas, th. mus., and Suite on Hung. Folk Dances (1931) for orch.
