Weerbeke, Gaspar van (b Oudenaarde, c.1445; d after 1517). Flemish composer. Spent his time in service of ducal chapel in Milan, papal chapel in Rome, and at Burgundian court. Wrote cycles of motets to replace normal movts. of the Mass (e.g. Kyrie and Gloria). Was connected with Du Fay and his circle.
