Vierdanck, Johann
Vierdanck, Johann, German organist and composer; b. c. 1605; d. (buried) Stralsund, April 1,1646. He was a chorister at the Dresden Hofkapelle, where he received training in composition, violin, and cornet. He was sent to Vienna in 1628 for further study, after which he was organist at the Marienkirche in Stralsund (1635-46). Among his works are Erster Theil geistlicher Concertenfor two to four (Greifswald, 1641) and Erster Theil newer Pavanen Gagliarden, Balletten und Correntenfor two Violins and Basso Continuo (Greifswald, 1637).
