Turski, Zbigniew

Turski, Zbigniew, Polish composer; b. Konstan-cin, near Warsaw, July 28,1908; d. Warsaw, Jan. 7,1979. He was a student of Rytel (composition) and Bierdiajew (conducting) at the Warsaw Cons. From 1936 to 1939 he was music producer of the Polish Radio in Warsaw. In 1945-46 he was conductor of the Baltic Phil. in Gdansk. His compositions were in an advanced harmonic idiom.
