Trombly, Preston (Andrew)

Trombly, Preston (Andrew), American composer; b. Hartford, Conn., Dec. 30, 1945. He studied composition with Whittenberg at the Univ. of Conn. (B.M., 1968), with Arel and Davidovsky at Yale Univ. (M.M.A., 1972), and with Crumb at the Berkshire Music Center at Tanglewood; also had some instruction in conducting from Bernstein and Barzin. He then devoted himself to teaching and composing.
