Terentieva, Nina (Nikolaievna)
Terentieva, Nina (Nikolaievna), Russian mezzo-soprano; b. Kusa, Jan. 9, 1946. She received vocal training at the Leningrad Cons. From 1971 to 1977 she was a member of the Kirov Opera in Leningrad, and then appeared with the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow from 1979. She appeared at the Vienna State Opera from 1987. In 1990 she sang Eboli in Los Angeles, a role she reprised at her Metropolitan Opera debut in N.Y. on March 19, 1992, and at the San Francisco Opera that same year. In 1995 she was engaged as Amneris at London’s Covent Garden, a role she sang in San Francisco in 1997. She also was a guest artist of opera houses in Milan, Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Bordeaux, and Buenos Aires. Among her other roles were Marta, Lubasha, Lubava, Marina, Azucena, Dalila, and San-tuzza.
