Takata, Saburô

Takata, Saburô, Japanese composer and teacher; b. Nagoya, Dec. 18, 1913. He studied with Nobutkoki and Pringsheim at the Tokyo Music School (graduated, 1939). He was a prof, at the Kunitachi Music Coll. in Tokyo (from 1953), and also served as president of the Japanese Society for Contemporary Music (1963-68).
