Strungk, Delphin, esteemed German organist and composer, father of Nicolaus Adam Strungk; b. 1600 or 1601; d. Braunschweig (buried), Oct. 12, 1694. He was organist at Wolfenbüttel’s principal church (1630-32), the Celle court (1632-37), and Braunschweig’s Marienkirche (from 1637) and other churches. He wrote vocal works and organ music
