Spasov, Ivan, Bulgarian composer; b. Sofia, Jan. 17, 1934; d. 1996. He studied composition with Vladigerov at the Bulgarian State Cons. in Sofia (1951–56) and later with Sikorski and Wislocki at the Warsaw Cons.; subsequently devoted himself mainly to teaching and composing. Spasov composed in an advanced style.
