Sciammarella, Valdo

Sciammarella, Valdo, Argentine composer; b. Buenos Aires, Jan. 20, 1924. He studied composition with Julian Bautista, and subsequently engaged in pedagogy. In 1965 he was appointed head of the music dept. at the National School of Fine Arts in Buenos Aires. He wrote a lyric comedy, Marianita Limena (Buenos Aires, Nov. 11, 1957), Variaciones concertantes for Piano and Orch. (1952), Scherzino for Oboe, Clarinet, and Bassoon (1956), Galena humana, chamber ballet (1962), and piano pieces.
