Schiedermayer, Johann Baptist
Schiedermayer, Johann Baptist, German organist and composer; b. Pfaffenmünster, Bavaria, June 23, 1779; d. Linz, Jan. 6, 1840. He served as Linz Cathedral organist. He wrote Theoretisch-praktische Chorallehre zum Gebrauch beim katholischen Kirchenritus (1828). He composed the Singspiels Wellmanns Eichenstämme (Linz, 1815), Das Glück ist kugelrund (Linz, 1816), and Die Rückkehr ins Vaterhaus (Linz, 1816), as well as 16 masses and much other sacred music, syms., string trios, organ pieces, etc.
