Rowley, Alec

Rowley, Alec , English pianist, teacher, and composer; b. London, March 13, 1892; d. Weybridge, Jan. 11, 1958. He was a pupil of Corder at the Royal Academy of Music in London. From 1920 he taught at London’s Trinity Coll. of Music. He also was active as a recitalist. He composed a Rhapsody for Viola and Orch. (1936), 2 piano concertos (both 1938), an Oboe Concerto, 2 trios for Flute, Oboe and Piano (1930), a String Quartet (1932), numerous piano pieces, and some vocal music.
