Ragazzi, Angelo
Ragazzi, Angelo , Italian composer; b. c. 1680; d. Vienna, 1750. He studied violin at the Cons. of S. Maria di Loreto in Naples. He was a violinist and later Konzertmeister at the royal chapel in Naples, and then was in the service of Emperor Charles VI in Vienna from 1713 to 1722 and again from 1729 to 1740. He publ. a fine vol. of Sonate a quattro (Rome, 1736), which included 12 sonatas for first violin, ripieno first violin, second violin, third violin or viola, violone, and basso continuo. He also wrote several concertos, a concerto grosso, a sinfonia, and sacred music.
