Pilotti-Schiavonetti, Elisabetta
Pilotti-Schiavonetti, Elisabetta, Italian soprano; b. place and date of birth unknown; d. Hannover, May 5, 1742. She married the oboist Giovanni Schia-vonetti and entered the service of the Dowager Electress Sophia of Hannover, whom she also served in England. On Nov. 22,1710, she made her first London appearance with the Queen’s Theatre company in Mancini’s Idaspe fedele. She then created the roles of Armida in Rinaldo (Feb. 24, 1711), Amarilli in II pastor fido (Nov. 12, 1712), Medea in Teseo (Jan. 21,1713), and Melissa in Amadigi di Gaula (May 25,1715), all by Handel. By 1715 she was in the service of the Princess of Wales. In 1726 she sang in Stuttgart. She settled in Hannover in 1728.
