Pandolfini, Angelica

Pandolfini, Angelica, Italian soprano, daughter of Francesco Pandolfini; b. Spoleto, Aug. 21, 1871; d. Lenno, July 15, 1959. She studied with Jules Massart in Paris. She made her debut as Marguerite in 1894 in Modena; after singing in the Italian provinces, she appeared at La Scala in Milan (1897–99; 1906). She created the title role in Adriana Lecouvreur at the Teatro Lirico in Milan in 1902; retired from the stage in 1908. She was best known for her convincing portrayals of verismo roles.
