Pacelli, Asprilio
Pacelli, Asprilio, Italian composer; b. Vasciano, 1570; d. Warsaw, May 4,1623. He went to Rome, where he was active at the churches of S. Maria de Monserrato (1589–93) and Trinità dei Pellegrini (1594). From 1595 to 1602 he was maestro di cappella at the Collegio Germanico, and in 1602 at St. Peter’s. He then was called to Warsaw by King Sigismund to serve as director of his royal chapel in 1603. Among his works were Psalms, motets and other sacred vocal works, and madrigals.
