Olah, Tiberiu

Olah, Tiberiu , Romanian composer; b. Arp??el, Jan. 2, 1928. He studied at the Cluj Cons. (1946–49) and the Moscow Cons. (1949–54), and in each of the years from 1966 to 1971, he attended the summer courses in new music at Darmstadt. In 1954 he joined the faculty of the Bucharest Cons. In his music he adopts a strong contrapuntal style, with some excursions into the atonal domain and dodecaphonic organization.
