Longo, Achille
Longo, Achille, Italian composer and teacher, son of Alessandro Longo ; b. Naples, March 28, 1900; d. there, May 28,1954. He studied with his father and with A. Savasta, then at the Naples Cons, (diplomas in piano, 1918, and composition, 1920), where he taught harmony (1926–30). He then taught at the Parma Cons. (1930–34), and subsequently taught composition at the Naples Cons. (1934–54).
