Kiurkchiysky, Krasimir, Bulgarian composer; b. Troyan, June 22, 1936. He studied composition with Vladigerov at the Bulgarian State Cons, in Sofia (graduated, 1962), then went to Moscow and took some lessons with Shostakovich. His music reflects Shostakovich’s influence in its rhapsodic compactness.
