Pasdeloup concerts 1928–32. Cond., Paris Opéra 1945–50. Founded Fr. Nat. Radio Orch. 1934, cond. 1934–44, 1951–8. Author of several books. Comp. opera, 4 ballets, choral, orch., chamber mus., and songs. La Nursery (1905–11) is 5 suites of pf. pieces for 4 hands for children, later orch. Wrote Kipling-based work, Mowgli, v., orch. (1946).
