Georgii, Walter, German pianist and pedagogue;b. Stuttgart, Nov. 23, 1887; d. Tubingen, Feb. 23, 1967. He studied piano in Stuttgart and theory in Leipzig, Berlin, and Halle. From 1914 to 1945 he taught piano in Cologne. He publ. Weber als Klavierkomponist (Leipzig, 1914), Geschichte der Musik fiir Klavier zu 2 Hande (Zürich, 1941; rev. ed., 1950), and Klavierspielerbuchlein (Zürich, 1953), as well as an anthology of piano music, 400 Jahre europaïscher Klavier Musik (Cologne, 1950).
