Gaultier (Gautier Gaulthier), Denis
Gaultier (Gautier, Gaulthier), Denis, French lutenist and composer, cousin of Ennemond Gaultier; b. Marseilles?, 1603; d. Paris, late Jan. 1672. He spent most of his life in Paris as a lutenist. With his cousin, he was a leading composer of lute music and a major influence on the keyboard style of Froberger.
