García Mansilla, Eduardo

García Mansilla, Eduardo, American-born French- Argentine composer; b. Washington, D.C., March 7, 1870; d. Paris, May 9, 1930. He studied composition with Massenet, Saint-Saens, and d’Indy in Paris and with Rimsky-Korsakov in St. Petersburg. His opera Ivan was produced in St. Petersburg in 1905, and another opera, La angelica Manuelite, in Buenos Aires in 1917. He also wrote choruses.
