Fuller, Jeff

Fuller, Jeff, jazz bassist; b. Nov. 30, 1945, South-bridge, Mass. Fuller has toured worldwide and recorded with Lou Donaldson since 1979, and he was also a member of Paquito D’Rivera’s New York/Havana Quintet, with whom he recorded four albums. He has appeared with Dizzy Gillespie, Mose Allison, Scott Hamilton, Jo Jones, Gerry Mulligan, Clark Terry and “Big Nick” Nicholas and recorded with Herman Foster, Don Lanphere and others. He is an expert in Latin music and has toured with the Hilton Ruiz group, Daniel Ponce’s Jazzbata, Mario Rivera’s Refugiados de Salsa, and Puerto Rican singer Roy Brown. He com-poses and arranges for the salsa group, Irazu, whose four albums have featured Arturo Sandoval and Tata Giiines. He has lived in the New Haven area for many years, holds a master’s degree in composition from Yale Univ., and is a teacher and clinician. He has taught at the university level and commissions and grants to write original music.
