Folville, Eugénie-Émilie Juliette, Belgian
Folville, Eugénie-Émilie Juliette, Belgian pianist and composer; b. Liege, Jan. 5, 1870; d. Dourgne, France, Oct. 28, 1946. She studied piano with her father and violin with Cesar Thomson; she also took lessons in composition with Radoux at the Liege Cons. She was only 17 when her Chant de Noel was performed at the Liege Cathedral. In 1898 she was appointed prof, at the Liege Cons. After the outbreak of World War I in 1914 she lived in Bournemouth, England; later returned to the Continent. She wrote an opera, Atala (Lille, 1892), a violin concerto, a piano concerto, piano pieces, and songs.
