Fletcher, Percy (Eastman)
Fletcher, Percy (Eastman), English conductor and composer; b. Derby, Dec. 12, 1879; d. London, Sept. 10, 1932. He went to London in 1899 as a conductor at various theaters there. He composed many works in a light, melodious style, including the orch. pieces Woodland Pictures, Sylvan Scenes, Parisian Sketches, 3 Frivolities, and the overture Vanity Fair. He also composed a short sacred cantata, Passion of Christ.
