Falcinelli, Rolande
Falcinelli, Rolande, French organist, pedagogue, and composer; b. Paris, Feb. 18, 1920. She entered the Paris Cons, in 1932, where she was a student of Samuel-Rousseau, Ple-Caussade, Biisser, and Dupre, taking premiers prix in harmony and piano accompaniment (1938), fugue (1939), and organ (1942), and the 2nd Prix de Rome (1942). In 1945 she became organist at the basilica of Sacre-Couer de Montmarte in Paris. As a recitalist, she made tours of Europe and North America. She was prof. of organ at the American Cons, in Fontainebleau (1948–55), The Ecole Normale de Musique in Paris (1951–55), and the Paris Cons. (1955–86).
