Eiríksdóttir, Karólína, Icelandic composer; b. Reykjavík, Jan. 10, 1951. She studied composition with Thorkell Sigurbjornsson at the Reykjavík Coll. of Music and with George Wilson and William Albright at the Univ. of Mich. (M.M., 1978); taught at the Kopavogur School of Music and the Reykjavík Coll. of Music. In 1985 she received an Icelandic Artists’ Grant. Her music is stark and austere, laden with northern Romanticism.
