Corner, Johann Valentin
Corner, Johann Valentin, German composer, brother of Johann Gottlieb Corner; b. Penig, Saxony, Feb. 27, 1702; d. Hamburg, late July 1762. He was educated at the Univ. of Leipzig. After serving several German courts, he settled in Hamburg about 1729, and from 1756 was Cathedral music director. He composed Sammlung neuer Oden und Lieder (3 vols., 1742, 1744, 1752).
