Brimfield, William

Brimfield, William, jazz trumpeter; b. Chicago, III, April 8, 1938. He began studying piano and violin. In 1957, he studied with Fred Anderson. In 1961, on discharge from the army, he met Richard Muhal Abrams. Along with Anderson, Brimfield joined the Joseph Jarman Sextet. He has played with George Hunter, Red Saunders, Lionel Hampton, Abrams big band, Edwin Daugherty’s Third World. He is a member of AACM.
