Brant, Per
Brant, Per Swedish violinist, composer, and poet; b. Uppland, Dec. 1714; d. Stockholm, Aug. 9, 1767. He settled in Stockholm in 1727. In 1735 he joined the royal chapel, where he was made Konzertmeister in 1738 and Kapellmeister in 1745. From 1758 until at least 1765 he served as principal court Kapellmeister. Various works attributed to him have also been claimed for Johan Helmich Roman.
