Bornefeld, Helmut
Bornefeld, Helmut, German organist and composer; b. Stuttgart-Untertürkheim, Dec. 14, 1906; d. Heidenheim, Feb. 11, 1990. He studied organ, piano, and composition at the Hochschule für Musik in Stuttgart, and then was organist and choirmaster in Heidenheim. With Siegfried Reda, he organized the Heidenheim Arbeitstage für Neue Kirchenmusik in 1946, and remained actively engaged in its activities until 1960. His compositions include numerous sacred and secular choral pieces, chamber music, and organ pieces.
