Blaze, Henri, Baron de Bury

Blaze, Henri, Baron de Bury, French music critic, son of François-Henri-Joseph Blaze; b. Avignon, May 17, 1813; d. Paris, March 15, 1888. He wrote many essays for the Revue des Deux Mondes and other periodicals, which were subsequently collected as Musiciens contemporains (1856), Meyerbeer et son temps (1865), Musiciens du passé, du présent, etc. (1880), and Goethe et Beethoven (1882). His most valuable book is La Vie de Rossini (1854).
