Barbetta, Giulio Cesare

Barbetta, Giulio Cesare, Italian lutenist and composer; b. probably in Padua, c. 1540; d. after 1603. He was one of the leading masters of the lute in his era. Among his works are four books of music in lute tablature (Venice, 1569; 1575, not extant; 1585; 1603).
