Bamboschek, Giuseppe

Bamboschek, Giuseppe, Italian-American conductor; b. Trieste, June 12, 1890; d. N.Y., June 24, 1969. He studied at the Trieste Cons., graduating in 1907. In 1913 he went to the U.S. as accompanist for Pasquale Amato; in 1918 he joined the staff at the Metropolitan Opera in N.Y., specializing in the Italian repertoire. After 1929 he was active mainly as a conductor for radio and films.
