Married to the sop. Elisabeth Schumann 1920–36. Arr. certain items by R. Strauss. Salzburg Fest. 1922. Cond. first London perf. (1924) of 2nd version (1916) of Ariadne auf Naxos. Cond., Nat. Opera, Mexico City, from 1941.
