Aliprandi, Bernardo
Aliprandi, Bernardo, Italian cellist and composer; b. probably in Milan, c. 1710; d. Frankfurt am Main, c. 1792. He went to Munich, where he was made a cellist in 1731, composer of chamber music in 1737, and Konzertmeister in 1744 at the Bavarian court. He retired in 1778. For the Bavarian court opera, he wrote the operas Mitridate (1738) and Semiramide riconosciuta (1740). He also wrote the festa teatrale Apollo trà le muse in Parnasso (Nymphenburg, 1740). Among his other works were a Stabat mater (1749) and some instrumental pieces.
